Advanced Practice Nursing Council

of Southeast Florida

Purpose & Goals

We have finally reached cyberspace with our communication. Our purpose is to provide the most up-to-date information for our colleagues, and others that may visit us. Our Council was the first local district to organize in the state. We originally adopted the name Southeast Florida A.R.N.P. Council in 1986, and have broadened our titled to Advanced Practice Nursing Council to include all registered nurses in advanced practice nursing.

Our purpose:

is to promote the visibility, viability, and unity of nurses engaged in advanced practice nursing. We are concerned with the health and wellness of all persons, and shall foster high standards for advanced practice nursing, promote professional and educational advancement for our members.

Our goals:

champion excellence in professional standards in the delivery of quality health care;

develop the Council in response to the needs and interests of members;

promote high standards for advanced practice nursing in education, research, and clinical practice, and;

promote national, regional, and local visibility of advanced practice nurses.
